It's a shame this is apparently an obscure title by an obscure author because this book deserves a wider readership It is a well written romance that doesn't dwell too much on the graphic details of sex as most modern romances tend to do Also the author deals realistically with the historical setting a few short years after the defeat of the Saxons by the Normans at the Battle of Hastings Her focus on how the shifting tides of politics impacts the average person really reminds me of Helen Kirkman's stories which I love In addition the romance between the two lovers Ranulf and Brenna is sweet and not fraught with fake emotional angst that authors sometimes use in their stories Instead the lovers are kept apart because of events beyond their control rather than some mispoken word or lack of communication or erroneous judgment I will definitely be looking for from this author
